~ ~ ~ 2000 ~ ~ ~
Our year 2000 Grant was awarded to the Carrington Elementary School in Waterbury, Connecticut, our founders' home town. That grant funded a Poetry In School program, which engaged essentially the entire student body (around 500 students!) in hearing, reading, and most importantly, writing poetry. The project produced a book of the students' works, a public reading, and commendations from city officials. As you can see, we are very pleased with the results of our Year 2000 grant. |
